POLSON — It’s festival time. Festival of Trees that is. This will be the festival’s 21st year in Polson. Mark your calendar for Saturday, Dec. 7.
This year we are so excited to offer tree viewing for the public on Friday, Dec. 6, at the KwaTaqNuk Resort from 7-9 p.m. Santa will be there for pictures (bring your own camera) and there will be a hot cocoa bar. A special basket will be raffled off just for Friday night viewers.
The festival generates funds for the Mission Valley Youth Foundation. This allows us the opportunity to serve a greater number of youth based organizations, programs and charities in the Mission Valley.
The Mission Valley Youth Foundation solicits applications from youth based programs within the Mission Valley. If you are a youth based entity and would like to request funding, you can pick up an application form from one of our board members or submit an email to: mvyouthfoundation@gmail.com. Please include your mission statement and a short description detailing your monetary request. Mission Valley Youth Foundation would also like the community to reach out to us with your suggestions of youth organization that you’d like to see supported. The deadline for submission is Oct. 31.
The Mission Valley Youth Foundation’s 2018 recipients were: Polson Youth Soccer Association, Mission Valley Mariners, Boys & Girls Club of the Flathead Reservation and Lake County, Friends Forever Mentoring, Mission Valley American Softball Association, Mission Valley Ice Arena Association, Polson Booster Club, Polson Middle School Javelin Program and CASA of Lake County.

The Mission Valley Youth Foundation Board includes: Brooke Ingram, Jamie Buhr, Roxanne Duckworth, Linda Fisher, Laura Burland, Trudy Pedersen, Michelle Shizuku and Brittany Cathey.
The Festival of Trees Committee members are: Julynn DeWitt, Pam Carruth, Cecilly Grant, Aimee Gustafson, Bernadette Clave, Brandy Allison, Kris Nordberg and Angela Collins.
