POLSON — Commissioners okayed a three-year time extension request under House Bill 522 on the 146-lot Mission Bay Village phased subdivision at the Polson City Commission meeting on May 21.
In a letter to the commission, Dennis Duty, managing member of Northwest Holdings, L.L.C., which developed Mission Bay Village, said, “Under the current and past four-year economic slump in the real estate market, it has not been viable to develop new lots; therefore, the Mission Bay Village subdivision has been on hold. Since it was first approved, we have developed three phases and plan to continue when the market warrants new construction.”
The commission also approved the final plat of preliminary approval for Ridgewater (originally Cougar Ridge) phase 2, lot 8C, a commercial lot at 106 Ridgewater Drive.
In other business, commissioners approved the appointment of Alice Oechslie to the Polson Redevelopment Board for a one-year term replacing Ivy McGowan, who is moving.
The commission also extended the current board members’ terms to three years. The members are: Ken Avison, Jules Clavadetscher, Rick Lapiana and Lou Marchello.
Jules Clavadetscher from the PR board apprised the commission that the PR would not have as much money to fund projects this year. An accounting snafu resulted in a readjustment in the PR board.
He credited Bonnie Manicke and Cindy Dooley with finding the discrepancy.
The commissioners will meet May 30 at 7:30 p.m. in executive session to complete a six-month evaluation City Manager Todd Crossett.
