Wrestling
At the Cut Bank Booster Invitational, the Mission/Charlo wrestling team finished fourth out of 29 teams on Saturday. Havre won the Invite with 211 points. Mission/Charlo finished with 135 points, and Arlee finished with 35.5 points during the two-day tournament.
Mission/Charlo had two champions at the event. Isaac DuMontier received a first-round bye at 145 pounds and then won the next three matches by fall, all within the first minute of the first period. In the championship, DuMontier won by fall over Dallen Hoover of Whitehall in 0:52 seconds.
Isaiah Allik won the 170-pound title. After a first-round bye, Allik went through the brackets undefeated. In the championship, Allik pinned Fergus/Lewistown wrestler Keaton Potter in 5:26 to win the title.
Darwin Adams took fourth after losing by decision to Riley Forcella of Whitehall.
Colt Crawford was the Arlee Warriors’ highest-placing wrestler, coming in fourth at 135 with a 14-0 decision-win over Aaron Wells of Browning in the fifth-place match.
Libby Duals: Polson went 2-0 and the Ronan Chiefs fell 0-2 at the Libby duals on Saturday at Libby High School. Polson defeated Libby 42-33 and Ronan 48-23. Ronan fell to Libby 51-12.
Boys Basketball
Charlo Vikings
Playing at home on Friday evening, the Charlo Vikings fell 77-49 to the Seeley Swan Blackhawks.
Roper Edwards finished with 15 points, and Levi Gaustad had 11 points.
On the road Saturday, the Arlee Warriors prevailed over the Vikings 71-58. The Vikings were led by Tucker Love and Coyote Nagy with 10 points each.
Two Eagle River Eagles
On the road Friday night, the Two Eagle River School Eagles fell 82-41 to the Tigers of St. Regis.
Arlee Warriors
In a Class B shoot out on Friday, the Arlee Warriors fell 74-63 to the hosting Florence Falcons. Tapit Haynes led the Warriors with a team-high 13 points. The Warriors outran the visiting Charlo Vikings 71-58 on Saturday. Warrior Cody Tanner led all shooters with 20 points, and Billy Fisher added 12 points.
Ronan Chiefs
On Tuesday, Jan. 7, the Ronan Chiefs outlasted the visiting Whitefish Bulldogs 58-55. Kuba Detwiler scored a Ronan team-high 18 points. Elijah Tonasket finished with 12 points, and Leonard Burke had 11 points.
Mission Bulldogs
Zoran LaFrombois, on Tuesday, Jan. 7, scored 19 points helping the Mission Bulldogs defeat visiting Loyola 62-59. Isaiah Nasewytewa netted 12 points for the Bulldogs. In conference action on Thursday, the Bulldogs slipped past visiting Thompson Falls 78-71. Jedi Christy scored a game-high 24 points for the Bulldogs followed by 17 points from LaFrombois and 16 points from Davien Adams.
Polson Pirates
The Polson Pirates outpaced the Stevensville Yellowjackets on Tuesday, Jan. 7, for a 57-41 road win. On Saturday, Xavier Fisher scored a team-high 11 points and Trevor Lake added 10. The Pirates posted their third straight win by defeating the Columbia Falls Wildcats on the road 63-50.
Girls Basketball
Charlo Lady Vikings
On Friday night, the Charlo Lady Vikings defeated the visiting Seely Swan Lady Blackhawks 49-30.
Live Smith led the Lady Vikings with 11 points. Carlee Fryberger and Hayleigh Smith each scored 10 points. On Saturday, the Lady Vikings moved to 7-0 on the season with a 53-17 road win over the Arlee Scarlets.
Two Eagle River School Lady Eagles
The St. Regis Lady Tigers defeated the visiting Two Eagle River Lady Eagles 59-16 on Friday evening.
Arlee Scarlets
The Arlee Scarlets fell to the hosting Florence Lady Falcons 66-32. Princess Bolen scored team-high eight points in a 53-17 home loss to the Charlo Lady Vikings on Saturday.
Mission Lady Bulldogs
On the road Tuesday, Jan. 7, the Mission Lady Bulldogs fell 68-40 to Loyola. Sydney Brander scored 14 points to pace the Lady Bulldogs. Azia Umphrey led the Lady Bulldogs with 16 points in a 67-48 road loss to Thompson Falls on Thursday. Karolyna Buck scored 12 points.
Polson Lady Pirates
Polson Lady Pirates Turquoise Pierre, Misty Tenas and Grace Simonich each scored six points in Saturday’s 61-28 road loss to the Columbia Falls Wildkats.
