News from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office

LAKE COUNTY – Lake County Sheriff Don Bell said: “It is with great sadness that I announce the death of one of our detention officers.”

Corporal Lanny Van Meter, a longtime Lake County Sheriff’s Office employee, died on Saturday, May 23, after a hospitalization due to complications of lupus.

“He has worked at the Sheriff’s Office since 2006 and will be greatly missed,” Bell said.
