POLSON — Karl David Salmonson, age 89, died peacefully May 27, 2020, at St. Joseph Hospital in Polson. He was born on April 10, 1931, in Great Falls to Joel and Olga Salmonson and grew up on the Fairfield Bench. He married Cora (Snider) Salmonson on June 2, 1953, in Fairfield, Montana.
His love was for the land through farming and gardening. He liked fixing and repairing things and making something out of nothing.
Karl was preceded in death by his son, Kelly.
He is survived by his wife, Cora; his sister, Karen; his brother, Jon; his son, Kyle (Sai); his daughter, Kathy (Karl); his grandsons; Kai and Keio (Abbie) and his great grandson, Ari; as well as many nieces and nephews.
No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Polson.
His ashes will be interred at the Lakeview Cemetery in Polson. Messages of condolences may be shared with the family online at: www.lakefuneralhomeandcremation.com. Arrangements are under the care of The Lake Funeral Home and Crematory.
