LAKE COUNTY – At about 3 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 15, Lake County deputies and Flathead Tribal Police responded to a report of a male shooting at people in the St. Mary’s Lake Road area of St. Ignatius.
Upon arrival, officers conducted an investigation, which led to the arrest of 21-year-old Christopher Brooks, of Ronan. The investigation revealed that there had been a party taking place and that some sort of disagreement arose during the party. Brooks and another person left the party, but then they returned, and Brooks opened fire upon the group. No one was hit with bullets from the shooting, but at least one vehicle sustained damage.
Brooks was located by deputies and jailed on two charges of assault with a weapon and marijuana possession. His bond was set at $100,000 in Lake County Justice Court.
