Golf

The Ronan Maiden golf team won the girls’ team title during the Frenchtown Invitational, which was held Wednesday at the King Ranch Golf Course.

Ronan had five golfers (Alyssa Pretty On Top, Madyson Running Crow, Macao Jackson, Kylee Neimeyer and Aaliyah Decker) finish in the top 10 with Pretty On Top carding a 91 score for third place.

Ellie Thiel fired a second-place 87 in the girls’ individual standings to help the Polson Lady Pirates to a third-place finish in the team standings.

On the boys’ side, the Polson Pirates placed second in the team standings. The Ronan Chiefs finished in fourth place. Troy Alford shot an 81 to lead the Chiefs. 

On Saturday, the Pirates posted a score of 339 to tie Hamilton for the boys’ top spot during the Hamilton Invitational. Ronan finished sixth in the team standings.

Pirate Hunter Emerson tied for second with a score of 81 in the boys’ individual standings. Scoring 393, the Maidens placed second in the team category followed by Polson with 396. Finishing in fifth, Thiel shot a 91 for the Lady Pirates. Madyson Running Crane carded a score of 93 to lead the Maidens.

 

Football

Charlo Vikings

On Friday, the Charlo Vikings kept their undefeated season intact on the road by dominating the Troy Trojans 52-0. 

Arlee Warriors

The Arlee Warriors plundered the Victor Pirates 34-12 in 14C District road action on Saturday.

 

Volleyball

Polson Lady Pirates

The Polson Lady Pirates notched another home win on Tuesday, Sept. 15, with a 19-25, 25-16, 25-12, 22-25, 15-6 victory over the Hamilton Lady Broncs. Kobbey Smith led the Lady Pirates with 10 kills, 23 digs and six aces. Maggie Todd had four aces and 19 kills. Hallie Moss had 25 assists, and Berkley Ellis had 14 assists. Thursday, on the road in Columbia Falls, the Lady Pirates fell in straight sets 25-14, 25-22, 25-14 to the Wildkats. Todd paced the Lady Pirates with nine kills, 16 digs and two blocks.

Ronan Maidens

The Ronan Maidens took a 25-15, 25-21, 18-25, 25-19 victory over the hosting Whitefish Bulldogs on Thursday evening behind 32 assists from Hannah Rowe and 13 digs, five blocks and 13 kills from Madeline McCrea.

Charlo Lady Vikings

In Class 14C action on Thursday, the Charlo Lady Vikings battled on the road in a 3-2 (22-25, 15-25, 25-9, 25-19, 16-14) win over the Drummond Lady Trojans. After losing the first two sets, the Lady Vikings rallied to win the final three games and escape with the match to remain undefeated on the season.

Arlee Scarlets

The Arlee Scarlets fell 3-0 to the hosting Anaconda Copperheads on Saturday.

Mission Lady Bulldogs

The visiting Bigfork Valkyries, on Thursday, picked up a 3-1 (25-13, 23-25, 25-22, 25-18) win over the Mission Lady Bulldogs. Lady Bulldog Maysa Couture led the pack with two aces, 23 assists and nine digs.

 

Soccer

In Libby, both the Polson Pirates and Lady Pirates came away with soccer victories on Thursday evening.

The boys won 6-0 over the Loggers. The girls came away with their first victory on the season with a 6-2 win over the Lady Loggers. Lady Pirate Kyla Heiser scored two goals. Sophia Moderie, Autumn Burland, Lilly Armstrong and Tia Mercer each had a goal for Polson.
