‘Spookatcular’ contest held
News from the Polson Chamber of Commerce
POLSON — To enter in the contest, simply email a photo of your carved pumpkin(s) to the Polson Chamber at: chamber@polsonchamber.com or post photos of your carved pumpkin(s) on Facebook and/or Instagram and tag the Polson Chamber of Commerce in your posts.
All submissions will be judged by the Polson Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Four winning submissions will receive $25 in Chamber Bucks and a dozen donuts from Lake City Bakery & Eatery. Anyone can participate and submissions from all ages are welcome.
The deadline for submissions is Monday, Oct. 26, at 10 p.m.
Chamber members are encouraged to highlight their business in whatever creative way they see fit in their submission photo. Once you have submitted your carved pumpkin to the contest, be sure to display your pumpkins so that we can conjure up plenty of spooky spirit for Halloween.
Library updates public
News from North Lake County Public Library
POLSON — Mobile hotspots are now available for check out. You can check out these mobile hotspots for seven days at a time. You can connect any device and access the Internet wherever there is cell service. You must have a North Lake County Public Library District card.
Bat week is Oct. 25-31 this year. Join us in celebrating their role in nature and their incredible diversity. Watch for virtual programming, bat facts, a book display, and free printables that contribute to bat awareness and conservation.
Show us your costume. We will have safe and low touch treats for all the little trick-or-treaters in the library on Friday, Oct. 30, during our open hours of 10 a.m.-5 p.m. We’ll also have coloring pages for you to take home. Happy Halloween. The library will be closed on Saturday, Oct. 31. We will reopen on Monday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m.
The library hours during phase two of reopening are: Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. We are also open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. for all vulnerable people.
Dupuis to address Kiwanis Club

POLSON — The Polson Kiwanis Club has returned to an autumn schedule, meeting the first and third Thursdays of each month at the KwaTaqNuk, downstairs in the Victor room. KwaTaqNuk follows COVID-19 protocols, taking temperatures at entry upstairs and requiring masks and social distancing. Please join us Thursday, Oct. 15, at noon, when our guest speakers will be Becky and Gary Dupuis from Polson Theatres telling us what is planned for the newly expanded Showboat Theater. A lunch menu is available for purchase.
Take out Harvest Dinner benefits Helping Hands
News from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
POLSON — Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 409 Fourth Ave., will hold their 50th annual Harvest Dinner as a take-out only event on Thursday, Oct. 15, from 4-6 p.m. Dinners will cost $10 each and include Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, rolls, and home-made Lefse. Lefse will also be available for purchase at the door. Call ahead to place an order at 406-883-5864. This event will benefit Helping Hands. Everyone is welcome.
