Justice of the Peace Chuck Wall dealt with the following case during the week March 11 through March 17:
Brian Andrew Wooden, 42, pleaded not guilty to an amended plea of operating a motor vehicle with an alcohol concentration of 0.08% BAC or greater, first offense. Wooden was found guilty, fined $400 plus court cost of $85 and sentenced to 10 days in Lake County Jail with nine days suspended.
Timothy Patrick Devlin, 22, pleaded not guilty to obstructing a peace office or other public servant, was found guilty was fined $150 plus court costs of $85 and was sentenced to 180 days jail with 180 days suspended.
Darwin Cloverton Zempel, 28, pleaded not guilty to failure to carry or exhibit insurance in his vehicle, first offense, was found guilty, was fined $150 plus $35 court costs and was sentenced to 10 days jail with 10 days suspended.
Joshua Nathan Miles Whitefountain, 19, pleased not guilty to an amended plea of reckless driving, was found guilty and was fined $300 plus $35 court costs and was sentenced to 90 days jail with 89 days suspended.
Charles Arthur Bava, 53, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while privilege to do so was suspended or revoked, was found guilty, was fined $250 plus $35 court costs and was sentenced to 180 days jail with 178 days suspended.
Jerry Michael Smith, 32, pleaded not guilty to criminal trespass to vehicles, was found guilty, was fined $200 plus court costs of $85 and was sentenced to 180 days jail with 179 days suspended. Smith also pleaded not guilty to resisting arrest, was found guilty, was fined $200 plus $85 court costs, was sentenced to an additional 180 days jail with all 180 days suspended.
Andrew R. Wickman, 24, pleaded guilty to driving without a valid drivers license, expired less than 180 days and operating a motor vehicle without liability insurance in effect, first offense. Wickman was found guilty, was fined $250 plus $70 court costs, and was sentenced to 10 days in jail with 10 days suspended.
Brett M. Parker, 22, pleaded not guilty to an amended plea of reckless driving, was found guilty, was fined $300 plus court costs of $35 and was sentenced to 90 days jail with 90 days suspended.
Andrew James McCaughin, 24, pleaded guilty to driving without a valid drivers license, expired less than 180 days, was found guilty and was fined $100 plus $35 court costs.
Sharon Rose Gross, 27, pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle without liability insurance in effect, first offense, was found guilty and was fined $100 plus court costs of $35.
Whitney Shea Whitford, 19, pleaded guilty to failure to carry proof or exhibit insurance in her vehicle, second offense, was found guilty, was fined $300 plus court costs of $35 and was sentenced to 180 days jail with 178 suspended. If Whitford provides proof of six months continuous insurance coverage on Aug. 23, than jail time will be waived.
Chad Theodore Eslick, 40, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, was fined $400 plus court costs of $85 and was sentenced to 180 days jail with 179 days suspended.
Ronald Day Knapp, 51, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, was fined $400 plus court costs of $85 and was sentenced to 180 days jail with 179 days suspended.
Helen Devlin Johnson, 50, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, third offense, and driving a motor vehicle while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked, was found guilty, was fined $1,350 plus court costs of $120, was sentenced to 545 days jail with 510 suspended.
