POLSON — Second grade students at Linderman Elementary School were given pumpkins, donated by the KwaTaqNuk Resort, to paint and get in the spooky spirit as part of the Polson Business Community’s annual pumpkin painting contest.
Teachers encouraged students to let their creativity shine with paint, glitter, ribbons and yarn. Decorated pumpkins were turned in for judging and put on display at the KwaTaqNuk for all to see on Monday Oct. 26.
“We didn’t get as many pumpkin submissions this year as we have in the past. I’m sure it had to do with the number of remote learners, but the competition was strong,” said KwaTaqNuk manager Louis Cross. “It was very difficult to choose winners this year. They had so many great ideas.”
The PBC provided all four winners with treat bags as a “thank you” for their hard work and creativity.
The winners are Lucas Lambert and Winnie McNeely in Mrs. Newell’s class, Hadley Wilson from Mrs. Delaney’s class and Brooks Cotter from Mrs. Douthit’s class.
