FLATHEAD RESERVATION — Deliberate homicide charges were filed Monday, Oct. 26, in the Montana Twentieth Judicial District Court for the death of William “Bill” Conko Camel, who was killed two years ago near Dixon, within Sanders County. An arrest warrant was issued for Cavey Little Rossbach with a bail of $1 million dollars.

Rossbach has been transferred to the Sanders County detention center from the tribal jail after being arrested and held on other charges by Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal police.

Earlier this month, law enforcement officers from CSKT joined forces with the Sanders County investigation. Charges were filed by the Sanders County Attorney and signed by Judge Deborah Kim Christopher.

It has been more than two years since Camel was shot and killed on Oct. 5, 2018, on Frank McClure Street in Agency, just north of Dixon in Sanders County.

This investigation was done with several law enforcement agencies contributing, including Sanders County, Lake County, Montana Highway Patrol, the Sanders County Attorney, CSKT Prosecutor’s Office and the Montana Attorney General’s Office.

Anyone with information about the Oct. 5, 2018, shooting of Camel is encouraged to call Detective Martin Spring at 1-406-827-6936 or CSKT Investigator Les Clairmont at 1-406-675-2700, extension 1190 or CSKT Detective Vernon Fisher at 1-406-675-4700 or 406-249-6014.
