SEATTLE, WASHINGTON — Virginia Gail Vaughn (Gilchrist-Burghardt), 64, passed away on Dec. 10, 2020, at the University of Washington Medical Center with her three children by her side, Sean Gilchrist, Jamie Congdon and Ashley Crowe.
Gail was born in 1956 to Robert and Virginia Vaughn in Burbank, California. She moved to Montana in 1978 with husband Scott and son Sean. They raised their three children in Bigfork until she and daughter Ashley moved to Polson in 1998. Gail was a beloved teacher in Polson elementary schools for 27 years and ended her career with a Masters in Educational Technology, and a second Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. She devoted countless hours to shaping the hearts and minds of her students with unending patience and the kindest heart.
Her devotion went beyond her students to the staff and families of Cherry Valley and Linderman Elementary School. She deeply impacted every person that crossed her path with her radiant personality, acceptance, guidance, friendship and lust for life.
In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you hug your child, grandchild, or friend, or sit and listen to the birds. Time waits for no one. Gail’s unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, family, friends and students will be cherished always. Her infectious smile will forever be in our hearts. A celebration of life will be planned for this summer (2021) and announced at a later date.
