News from St. Joseph Medical Center

POLSON — Providence St. Joseph Medical Center began vaccinating its caregivers with the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine on Monday, Dec. 28.

St. Joe’s director of nursing Erin Rumelhart said: “Our caregivers are excited about receiving the vaccine. Everyone who has come through has been enthusiastic about having a way to fight this virus.”

During the first day of vaccinations, 70 employees were slated to receive a vaccination. Employees are notified by email or text about their scheduled time to receive the Moderna vaccine.

St. Joseph Medical Center Chief Operating Officer Devin Huntley witnessed the event firsthand. He said, “I arrived at work at 6:45 a.m. and the hallway leading to the vaccination clinic was full of activity. I could feel the excitement in the air. Our team put an enormous amount of hard work into organizing this and I’m so proud of them.”

The vaccination clinic continues for St. Joe’s caregivers, and more vaccine is slated for to be delivered soon. For more information, please contact Rich Forbis, Providence St. Joseph Medical Center at richard.forbis@providence.org or at 406-883-8273.
