News from Polson Business Community

POLSON — The Polson Business Community is leading the way for positive change and growth for retailers, professionals, visitors and friends of downtown Polson.

During a recent meeting, a new board of directors was elected, and planning for the year ahead has begun. We have changed the dates that we are meeting as well. The Board of Directors will meet on the second Thursday of each month, and a general membership meeting is now on the third Thursday of each month.

“We are all very grateful to be working to serve our community in 2021 and build relationships with those within the Polson Community,” the Polson Business Community states.

The PBC board includes: President Bobbie Goldberg, Second Nature Gifts and Goods LLC; Vice President Joslyn Shackelford, Alpine Design; Secretary CarolLynn Lapotka, Handmade Montana; and Treasurer Shad Hupka, First Interstate Bank.

Members at large include: Genevieve Evans, Flathead Sailing School; Daisy Walsh, BearGrass Candles; and Joe Haugen, Glacier Brewing Company.

“We are introducing a digital membership form that businesses can fill out online to help streamline the process and make sure we have all current and accurate information in our records,” PBC states. “We are encouraging past members to submit their dues and forms ASAP and reach out to other businesses in the community that might benefit from membership.”

New and exciting changes and events ahead include continuing the First Friday event series and shifting the dates of the popular Cherry Fest to the last weekend in July (July 31-August 2021).

“Many of the local businesses and vendors felt it is the perfect time to claim a later weekend when the cherries are at their peak rather than before they are ready to enjoy,” PBC states. “Those wanting to find out more information should check the website soon for how to apply for a booth and be a part of this great event.”

PBC hopes to bring more activities and draw attention to downtown as COVID-19 restrictions change. For the best up-to-date information, check Facebook at www.facebook.com/PolsonBusinessCommunity.
