ST. IGNATIUS — Planes and pancakes were back at the St. Ignatius Fly-In on Sunday morning after the pandemic put a hold on the event last year.

The event has been held annually for 14 years, not including last year, as a way to end the Good Old Days weekend and bring people out to the airport to learn about aviation. About 40 airplanes landed at the airport for spectators to enjoy.

Steve Allard, one event organizer, said the breakfast “has become one of the premier events at the Good Old Days.” He added that watching the airplanes was a good way to relax on a Sunday morning.

Local businesses donated about 100 items to a raffle drawing held during the breakfast. There were also helicopter rides during the morning for a small fee. The breakfast was free.

“A company out of Spokane flew down with two helicopters,” Allard said. “They were flying up past Mission Dam and approaching the garden wall.”

Allard said it was another great event for the airport.
