POLSON — The Greater Polson Community Foundation awarded project grants and trust based grants to 18 local non-profits as part of its 2021 grant cycle. Directors were on hand from Flathead Lake Bio Station, Miracle of America Museum, Montana State Parks Foundation, Ninepipes Museum of Early Montana, Polson Fairgrounds, FLiC, Polson Business Community, International Choral Festival, North Lake County Library, Mission Valley Aquatics, Lake County Youth Scholarship Program, the Mission Valley Animal Shelter, Flathead Lake Museum, Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Flathead Reservation, Helping Hands, Women 4 Wellness, Mission Valley LIVE and Flathead Lakers to share their grant projects and accept funds on behalf of the nonprofits.
“Being able to support our community non-profits and their projects is definitely a highlight of our year, we are able to do these grants because our donors truly love making a difference,” said GPCF Board President Toni Whealon.
Gifts and donations make it possible to add significantly to the permanent endowment, which now totals over $960,000. Grants are funded only by the interest earnings from the permanent endowment and are awarded annually.
