Double-figure Trojan scoring kept the Bulldogs at bay in Troy on Jan. 14.
Mission’s Stuart Grant scored an impressive 37 points, with 18 in the fourth quarter. But it wasn’t enough to lift his team over Troy and the Trojans’ Cory Orr, who also had a stellar night, scoring 24 points.
The Bulldogs trailed the Trojans most of the game but stayed within reach. Mission made a fourth quarter surge, outscoring Troy 29-17, but fell short as time expired.
Troy’s Cody Orr scored 15 points, and Ryan Rayson chipped in 14 to help shut down the Bulldogs late in the game.
Mission’s Dylan Evans reached double figures, adding 10 points.
On Jan. 10, the Chiefs defeated the Bulldogs on Mission’s home court, 48-43. Ronan’s Brady Oakland scored put up 19 points and Marcus Hungerford had 10.
Grant led the Bulldogs in points with 10, and Austin Durglo added nine.
The Bulldogs are now 1-3 in conference and 2-8 overall.
Mission plays Charlo at home Jan. 19 and travels to Deer Lodge Jan. 21.
