Editor,
There is a choice in the race for Lake County Commissioner.
Unlike the last commissioner race, two years ago, the winner and newest commissioner-elect won’t be named until November after the general election. The Republican Party nominated Gale Decker over incumbent Paddy Trusler and candidate Rick Jennison.
I have been asked by several people how I think the new commissioner will be. From these questions, I conclude that the voters have not been well-informed of the choices they have. It isn’t over yet. John Swenson will be on the ballot in November.
I would like to see each of the communities conduct a candidate forum or at the least, I encourage the Valley Journal and the Leader to each publish an interview of the candidates with their unedited responses to specific questions. There is a choice, and the voters need the ability to make an informed choice.
