POLSON — Judge Molly Owen set a sentencing date of June 21 for a St. Ignatius man who admitted stealing a pick-up in Polson six years ago. Elliot Bockman, 40, pleaded guilty during an arraignment hearing in Polson District Court May 3.
According to court records on Nov. 23, 2017 a Polson man reported that his 2016 Ford F-150 was taken from his residence and was headed towards Pablo. Law enforcement located the F-150 in front of a residence on Clairmont Road in Pablo. Bockman was sitting in the driver’s seat. Bockman had no authorization to take the vehicle and was arrested.
Bockman’s guilty plea came as part of an agreement that dismisses drug possession and bail jumping charges. It calls for a joint recommendation of 10 years with the Montana Department of Corrections with five years suspended. The Lake County Jail roster shows Bockman faces outstanding warrants in other jurisdictions. His bond in Lake County is set at $25,000.
