Editor,
What do “Jack In The Box,” “Grandma’s Glasses,” “Happy Hippopotamus” and library books all have in common? They were just some of the things taught with love and joy by Miss Trude.
Trude Hunsucker was the “library lady” at Polson City Library for many years. She not only brightened the library with her kind and generous spirit, she took it on the road. Once a week, she came to our preschool and read to the children and taught them songs and finger plays. When I was trying to teach the days of the week, I was told they were Monday, Tuesday and Miss Trude-day. I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Thank you, Miss Trude, for all that you’ve done for a whole generation of Polson children to encourage them to read and to just plain have fun. We will miss you. Especially on Miss Trude-day.
