MISSOULA — Montana Public Radio is pleased to announce an exciting live radio broadcast coming to the Zootown Arts Community Center. On Dec. 1, the MTPR children’s program The Pea Green Boat, hosted by Vicki Chaney, will be featuring live music and interviews with the Missoula Youth Orchestra. The broadcast is open and free to the public. The station asks folks to be seated at the ZACC by 3:45 p.m. The one-hour live broadcast begins at 4 p.m.
“This event will be especially fun because the Youth Orchestra will set up, not on stage, but at floor level so children of all ages will be able to be very close to the musicians,” Chaney said. Chaney will be interviewing the students in the orchestra between musical pieces so listeners and the audience will learn about being in the orchestra from a youth perspective as well as the role of music in education.
