POLSON — A rash of broken windows in vehicles and buildings have plagued Polson for the past three weeks.

According to a press release from Polson Assistant Police Chief Clint Cottle, officers responded to more than 20 incidences of night-time vandalism, mostly on the west side of Polson. Cottle said it appears either a BB gun or pellet gun caused the damage.

Polson Police Chief Wade Nash nudged the number up to more than 25 windows after the weekend, which is at least $2,000 of damage, figuring each window at from $200 to $500. That turns the crime into a felony.

“We’re assuming it’s juveniles,” Nash said, “but the only way we’re going to solve these crimes is with the community’s help.”

Police are asking the public to report any suspicious activity, such as different vehicles or people on foot in their neighborhoods.

If anyone has information in reference to these crimes, call (406) 883-8212 or Crime Stoppers at (406) 883-7309.
