Editor,
I am writing in support of Nancy Lindsey, who is running for Senate District 6. As a retired teacher, I have a strong interest in seeing improvements to our education system, because a good foundation is the pathway to success for our youth. We need to retain good teachers and pay them what they are worth. Nancy graduated from Polson High School, taught in area schools and served nearly 10 years on the Polson School Board. She knows the education issues from the ground up.
Nancy also believes in creating good-paying jobs for those graduating students, thus avoiding a state “brain drain.”
I spoke with Nancy just the other evening, and she impressed me as personable and easy to talk to. I view her as a “people person.” She has a strong interest in breaking the partisan gridlock in the Legislature by reaching across the aisle, working toward compromise on difficult problems. My concern with the extreme polarity and divisiveness that is occurring now is shared by many. Nancy Lindsey has the willingness to work with both parties, and I commend her for this.
Lastly, Nancy is an entrepreneur. She founded Black Mountain Software, which employs about 35 people locally. Fiscally responsible, she believes in helping small business owners become more competitive by passing legislation that strengthens them, building job opportunities in our state.
When you vote in this election, please consider which candidate is most closely aligned with your own set of values. Then you can vote with confidence. My vote is going to Nancy Lindsey.
