Pro-life, or pro-death?

Editor,
I would like to discuss this whole “pro-life” issue. The truth is that nobody likes abortion, but in order to solve a problem, the root causes of it must be alleviated. So what are the main reasons women seek abortions? Number one is simply financial realities. They can’t afford to care for children, especially in a society where the men involved are practically free from any responsibility whatsoever, and the government does as little as possible to help often even allowing the big banks to literally kick them out into the street illegally. Many women are the sole supports of their families and are already stretched to the breaking point. So to subject many young uneducated women to this future where the children would not have the care they needed and the mothers would not be able to dig themselves out to improve their circumstances would only cause much more misery and death due to malnutrition, lack of medical attention, neglect, etc. So to take this so-called “pro-life” stance without first considering the implications is more like a “pro-death” stance, in reality. Add to that the fact that the world has reached its 8 billion people mark, and more than 6 million children worldwide are already starving to death each year, and one has to wonder why this mantra is so blindly followed by so many otherwise intelligent citizens. If you really believe in pro-life, then do something to help alleviate these problems, and you will see a drastic decline in abortions. It is also common knowledge that most pro-lifers are perfectly alright with the thousands of children who died last year from all these senseless wars and from living in toxic environments. But of course, since the big corporations own our news media and have suppressed it, most of you probably haven’t heard much about this, have you?
