Editor,
The board members and staff of the Bread Basket wish to thank all of you in the community who have given your generous support to the success of the food pantry, which continues to serve Ronan, Pablo, Charlo and Moiese families. Because of your financial help we can purchase both canned and dry goods food staples. Other food products continue to come in from the grocery stores and private citizens. Our neighbors especially enjoy the nutritious benefits of garden fresh fruits and vegetables available with summer gardens. A special thanks to all those who have spent time volunteering at the Bread Basket, and to the businesses, churches, and organizations who have faithfully given financial support throughout the years.
The Bread Basket is currently serving close to 200 families per month, giving an average of 100 pounds of food to each family. Times keep changing but the need is always increasing with the ebb and flow of uncertainty. With the scarcity of jobs and higher cost of living, we expect this trend of increasing need may continue throughout 2012.
Ways you can help: volunteer your time, gather canned and/or dry foods, give a tax-deductible donation.
Those who are interested in volunteering your time, please call Barbara at (406) 676-3699, or Marilynn at (406) 676-5275. The Bread Basket is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
You can drop off canned and/or dry foods or send your financial donations to the Bread Basket at PO Box 346, Ronan, Mont.
We have designated June and July as our fund-raising months. Would you consider giving the Bread Basket a financial contribution at this time?
Thank you again for caring about your neighbors. Your kind generosity to those in need keeps us feeding the hungry within our community. God bless you each and everyone.
