Judge C.B. McNeil dealt with the following cases Wednesday, Nov. 7:

Chase Kuntz, 20, St. Ignatius, had his sentencing deferred for six years for arson, a felony.

According to court documents, charges stem from a June 5 incident where Kuntz admitted he intentionally set fire and destroyed an abandoned cabin on tribal leased land off Airport Road because he didn’t want it to be used as a methamphetamine lab.

Louis A. Camel, 35, Ronan, was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for 13 months followed by a suspended three-year commitment to the DOC for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, fourth or subsequent offense, a felony.

According to court documents, charges stem from a February 25 incident where the vehicle Camel was driving drifted off the eastbound side of Mollman Pass Trail and became stuck in a ditch. The responding deputy noticed signs of intoxication including a strong odor of alcohol, slurred speech and swaying.

Camel’s driving record showed three previous DUI convictions.

Allyson M. Girouard, 40, Polson, admitted committing an amended offense of criminal endangerment, a felony. The court found Girouard guilty. Sentencing is set for Dec. 12 at 9 a.m.

According to court documents, charges stem from an April 14 incident where an officer pulled Girouard over for driving over the center line. Girouard’s eyes were bloodshot and glossy and she admitted consuming alcoholic beverages. Her driving record showed at least four prior DUI convictions.

Patrick W. Runsabove, 31, Ronan, in a change of plea, admitted committing partner of family member assault, a felony. The court found Runsabove guilty. Sentencing is set for Dec. 12 at 9 a.m.

According to court documents, charges stem from a July 20 incident where police were contacted for a domestic assault. The victim told the officer that Runsabove had accused her of having an affair with a co-worker. She said Runsabove had choked her until she lost consciousness, punched her twice in the stomach and had tried to hit her with a barbell and a shoe. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where a doctor observed bruising on her chest, a contusion on her head and bruising on the upper left portion of her flank. The injuries appeared to have happened in the last 24 hours.

Runsabove has at least two prior convictions for domestic assault.

Joseph Allen Cahoon, 52, Lake County, was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for 13 months followed by five years suspended for operation of noncommercial vehicle by person with alcohol concentration of .08 or more, fourth or subsequent offense, a felony.

According to court documents, charges stem from a June 1 incident on Leighton Road in Ronan. A deputy observed Cahoon as he exited the driver’s side of a vehicle, and Cahoon appeared to have been drinking.

A breath test showed blood alcohol levels higher than the legal limit, and a blood test revealed his blood alcohol level was .09 percent. Cahoon’s driving record showed at least three prior DUI convictions.
