News from Sheridan College

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – When paying for higher education, students and families want every advantage they can get. That’s why Sheridan College is excited to announce the Bighorn Mountain Advantage, a program offering in-state tuition to all South Dakota, North Dakota, Colorado and Montana residents.

Starting in fall 2025, the initiative will allow all students, regardless of their state of residency, to pay in-state tuition rates throughout their academic careers at Sheridan College, a beautiful and affordable institution at the foot of the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming.

“We’ve known for a long time that our people, our programs, and our backyard are truly something special,” says Sheridan College President Dr. Walter Tribley. “This program is going to reduce the barrier of cost for many – and really welcome them to experience all we have to offer.”

Tribley cites smaller class sizes, state-of-the-art facilities, a small-town feel, and countless outdoor adventures. But to him and the school, it’s much more than that.

“By removing financial barriers, Sheridan College is not only investing in the future of our institution but also in the long-term economic growth of the region … and ultimately, the opportunities for our students.”

In recent years, Sheridan College has undertaken many initiatives to expand its geographic reach and extend its value proposition, including adding a 4-year degree, increasing in-demand Career and Technical Education programs, and making on-campus living and food more affordable than ever.

“You really can do big things here for a lot less,” says Tribley. “And we’re just getting started.”
