LAKE COUNTY — Candidate filing dates for the Nov. 4 municipal general election are as follows:
Filing opens on April 17 at 8 a.m. and closes on June 16 at 5 p.m.
City of Polson
Mayor – one opening - $30 filing fee
City commissioners – three openings
Ward 1 - $ 15 filing fee
Ward 2 - $ 15 filing fee
Ward 3 - $ 15 filing fee
City of Ronan
Mayor one opening - $ 15 filing fee
City judge- one opening - $ 90.90 filing fee
City commissioners – three openings
Ward 1 - $ 15 filing fee
Ward 2 - $ 15 filing fee
Ward 3 -$ 15 filing fee
Town of St. Ignatius
Mayor –one opening - $15 filing fee
Town judge- one opening - $ 24.35 filing fee
City commissioners – two openings
At large -$ 15 filing fee
At large - $ 15 filing fee
All positions are for four year terms – Jan. 1, 2026 – Dec. 31, 2029
All candidates campaigning for municipal offices must file a c-1-a form within five days of filing for office at forms (mt.gov)
(MCA, 7-4-4401) Qualifications for a city council member.
A person is not eligible for the office of city council member unless the person is a resident for at least 60 days preceding the election to the office of the ward electing the person of an area that has been annexed by the city or town and placed in the ward.
