HELENA — Congratulations to three Arlee High School seniors: River Gray , Dylan Lovejoy, and Bridger Smith.

The Governor’s Office of Community Service (ServeMontana), Reach Higher Montana, and Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement (MCNCE) are delighted to announce 84 Montana high school seniors have been awarded the Youth Serve Montana Scholarship. This $1,250 scholarship is awarded to seniors who completed 100 hours or more of volunteer service over the past year and who plan to attend a Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement institution this fall.

“Every year, we honor high school seniors who significantly contribute to their communities, providing a great opportunity to acknowledge their hard work. The Youth Serve Montana Scholarships offer more than just financial assistance; they aim to inspire service and recognize those students who will continue to positively impact their communities” said Kelly Cresswell, Executive Director of Reach Higher Montana.

The Youth Serve Montana Scholarship was established to encourage high school students to engage in volunteer activities. This scholarship is funded by organizations dedicated to community and educational advancement including Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement, a coalition of Montana colleges and universities that prioritize community involvement; Reach Higher Montana, a nonprofit organization focused on assisting students in achieving and financing higher education; and the Governor’s Office of Community Service, the state agency responsible for enhancing and encouraging national service and community volunteerism across Montana. The administration of these scholarship funds falls under the purview of the Governor’s Office of Community Service.

“These scholarships go beyond simply recognizing students. Through their volunteer efforts, students cultivate a culture of empathy and leadership, with each act of service contributing to a brighter shared future” said Josh Vanek, Director of Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement.

The Youth Serve Montana Scholarship is offered annually with the application opening each fall.
