HELENA - Lt. Gov. Kristen Juras will honor 60 Montanans who saved 164 lives through organ donation in 2024 by presenting them with the Governor’s Gift of Life Award on Friday, April 25, at 11 a.m. at the Great Northern Hotel in Helena. The Governor’s Gift of Life Ceremony, hosted by LifeCenter Northwest and the Governor’s Office of Community Service, is held for the donors’ surviving families.
As of April 1, 178 Montanans are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant.
The ceremony recognizes the families whose loved ones are being honored as organ donor heroes, highlights the importance of organ, eye, and tissue donation, and encourages the public to register their donation decision now during National Donate Life Month and share this decision with their family.
Donor families can speak about their loved one’s choice to be an organ donor, as well as the hope that comes from organ donation during a time of loss.
LifeCenter Northwest CEO Santokh Gill can speak about the importance of organ donation and how to register as an organ donor at: donatelifemt.org.
