Editor,
To the would-be secessionists: If you do not like living under the laws of the state of Montana and of the United States of America and want to have your own country, I say “Fine.” There is something all like-minded citizens can do. They have the right to renounce their citizenship and go find their own country elsewhere.
They could work with the rest of the citizens of Montana and the USA to change the laws, if they think they can’t live under them. But what they can’t do is take my state and my country hostage to only their way of thinking, disregarding the vast majority of its citizens, not willing to compromise, not willing to understand the changing demographics of the country, not listening to anyone else’s side of things, just holed up in their own person “reality.”
They cannot have my Montana and USA.
I’m a Montana resident since birth (75 years).
