POLSON — A Lake County Sheriff’s Detention Officer is on administrative leave after being charged with drunk driving while off duty.
Matthew Walker allegedly was involved in a two-car crash near the Jette Lake area at about 10:15 p.m. on Aug. 22.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered Walker and his vehicle had left the scene of the crash but were located later.
The Montana Highway Patrol cited Walker for driving under the influence, first offense, failure to identify self and vehicle when involved in an accident, and failure to give notice of accident by quickest means. Walker’s next appearance in court is scheduled for Nov. 15.
