Justice of the Peace Joey Jayne dealt with the following cases Jan. 4-10:

Daniel Otis Shepardson, 37, forfeited a $435 bond for driving while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked. 

Warren Allen Burns, 43, pleaded not guilty to the amended offense of driving without a valid driver’s license. He was found guilty, sentenced to 180 days in jail, all suspended, and fined $350 plus $35 in court costs. 

Wayne F. LaPointe, 20, pleaded not guilty to possessing intoxicating substances while under 21 (over age 18), third or subsequent offense. He was found guilty, sentenced to eight days in jail, and fined $300 plus $85 in court costs. LaPointe received credit for eight days served.

David Thomas Murphy, 59, pleaded not guilty to failure to carry proof or exhibit insurance in vehicle, owner or operator, first offense. He was found guilty and fined $250 plus $35 in court costs. 

Kasey Roy Thiesen, 28, pleaded not guilty to driving without a valid driver’s license. He was found guilty, sentenced to 270 days in jail, 263 suspended, and fined $500 plus $35 in court costs.  Thiesen also pleaded not guilty to failure to carry proof or exhibit insurance in vehicle, owner or operator, third or subsequent offense. He was found guilty and fined $500 plus $35 in court costs. Thiesen also pleaded not guilty to the amended offense of reckless driving, first offense. He was found guilty and fined $300 plus $35 in court costs. 

Craig Alan Lillethan, 60, forfeited a $100 bond plus $35 in court costs for misrepresenting size or weight of load when obtaining special permit. 

Charles Webb, 37, pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle while privilege to do so is suspended or revoked. He was found guilty and sentenced to 180 days in jail, 178 suspended, and fined $250 plus $35 in court costs. Webb also pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense. He was found guilty, sentenced to 180 days in jail, 171 suspended, and fined $600 plus $85 in court costs. Jail time must be started by March 9.

Margit E. Groessler, 57, forfeited a $50 bond plus $35 in court costs for a stop sign violation.

Westy R. Kiehn, 20, pleaded guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, marijuana (60 grams or less), first offense. He was found guilty and fined $100 plus $85 in court costs. 

Sean Dupuis Perry, 31, forfeited a $20 bond for a seatbelt violation.
