Editor,

My husband died this past December. When I went up to Lakeview Cemetery to make arrangements for a headstone, I discovered that one of the two lots we had purchased in 2004 had been resold two years ago, and someone was buried in one of the lots.

The sexton was very apologetic and felt badly and he said that someone was embezzling about the time in 2004 when we purchased the lots and they would deposit the money, but not record the purchase.

So, if you think you own cemetery lots up at the Lakeview Cemetery, you should check now (bring the white receipt record for proof) to find out if you truly are recorded as owning the lots before you have to actually bury your loved one in them.
