Judge C.B. McNeil dealt with the following cases Wednesday, June 29:
Travis Curtis Lozeau, 21, Ronan, pleaded not guilty to theft, a felony. Lozeau remains at liberty, and an omnibus hearing is set for Wednesday, Aug. 17 with a jury trial beginning Monday, Oct. 31 at 9 a.m.
According to court records, charges stem from several incidents between March 26 and April 11 where Lozeau allegedly was seen on surveillance video from Wal-Mart and Harvest Foods using an ATM card that he was not authorized to use. The owner of the card had reported that it was stolen, and that her bank account in the amount of $2,335.25 was emptied without her authorization.
Frank Wright, 41, Arlee, pleaded not guilty to partner or family member assault, third or subsequent offense, a felony. Wright remains at liberty, and an omnibus hearing is set for Wednesday, Aug. 17 with a jury trial scheduled for Monday, Oct. 311 at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from a June 15 incident where a Lake County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a domestic assault report. The victim told him that Wright, her former husband, had come to her home in the morning and began arguing with her and then grabbed her around the throat and punched her in the head. The deputy noted red marks on her neck, a swollen cheek, and a scratch on her mouth. She said Wright then got into the vehicle he was driving and backed it into her car, breaking the taillight on his car. The deputy then drove to Wright’s mother’s home, where he saw the vehicle with the broken taillight, but could not find Wright. However, Wright’s criminal history showed two prior convictions for partner or family member assault, so a warrant was issued for Wright’s arrest.
Josiah Kinyon, 21, Polson, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony; criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a misdemeanor; and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Kinyon remains at liberty. An omnibus hearing is set for Wednesday, Aug. 10 and a jury trial for Monday, Oct. 17 at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from a December 2010 incident where a mother had found drugs in her daughter’s room and believed they belonged to Kinyon, her daughter’s boyfriend.
Judge Deborah Kim Christopher dealt with the following cases Thursday, June 30:
Dustin Lee Seyler, 32, Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, had his prior suspended sentence revoked and was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for one year for four counts of theft and one county of forgery, all felonies. For another count of theft, a felony, Seyler was committed to the DOC for seven years with three suspended. The two sentences are to run concurrent with each other, and all previous conditions of his probation are re-imposed. Also, the court recommends Seyler be considered for chemical dependency treatment.
According to court documents, charges stem from incidents dating back to May 2003 when Seyler broke into four rental units at A&B Storage in Polson and stole two saddles and some golf clubs. Then in June 2003 Seyler stole a lawn aerator and a rototiller from Ronan Sales and Loan; a scabbard from Rising Wolf Trading Post in Polson; and three bronze statues from Art Forms Gallery in Polson, all during August 2003. In September 2003, Seyler stole a drill, air compressor and two chainsaws from the work trailer of a former employer. Seyler was convicted of another theft in Flathead County in April 2005.
In an October 2003 interview with detective Jay Doyle, Seyler admitted stealing all the items and pawning them to support his drug habit.
In May 2011, Seyler tested positive for methamphetamine, breaking conditions of his probation and parole.
Autumn Yamelst, 27, Ronan, had her suspended sentence revoked and was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for three years for criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. The court recommends she be considered for chemical dependency and mental health treatment followed by pre-release. All previous conditions of her probation and parole are reimposed.
According to court documents, Yamelst admitted using methamphetamine on May 30. Original charges date back to October 2004 when a social worker reported possible drug use by Yamelst.
Conan George Louie, 32, Pablo, admitted committing incest, a felony. The court accepted the plea agreement and found Louie guilty. A PSI was ordered and sentencing is set for Thursday, Aug. 25 at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from sometime in 2010 and/or 2011 when Louis allegedly had sexual contact with a female relative at a time when she was 12 years old or younger and he was over the age of 18.
Ronald Romas, 46, Arlee, pleaded not guilty to two counts of criminal distribution of dangerous drugs, both felonies. Romas remains at liberty. An omnibus hearing is set for Thursday, July 14 and a jury trial is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 22. Both begin at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from two incidents in January and February 2008 where an informant twice purchased methadone pills from Romas in Arlee. Both time the informant was wearing a concealed recording device and reporting back to an agent from the Northwest Drug Task Force.
Debbie Marry-Hawkins, 24, Ronan, was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for two years for an amended offense of criminal endangerment, a felony. The court recommends Marry-Hawkins be screened and placed in an appropriate treatment program and then receive a conditional release if she successfully completes all recommended treatment programs.
According to court documents, charges stem from a May 30, 2010 incident where Marry-Hawkins had stabbed her estranged husband in the chest with a steak knife.
