Editor,

Missoula’s Women In Black “Standing For Peace” group is joining Polson’s Women In Black “Standing For Peace” group for this special visit on June 6.

Honor the Missoula’s Women In Black (and men) Standing For Peace on Monday, June 6. Join us along with the Polson Standing For Peace group in welcoming this group who inspired us over a year ago. They are making a special visit to join us. We stand on the corner of the Lake County Courthouse at Fourth Street and First Avenue East from noon to 12:30 p.m. “Women In Black” have been “standing” since ancient times to promote peace and non violence of any kind. Missoula’s “WIB” celebrates “standing” since Dec. 6, 2001. Standing for Peace is not affiliated with any official group or organization. It is not anti-soldier and wearing black simply represents mourning for those who have lost their lives to violence. We simply remind folks that peace is possible by peacefully displaying signs and symbols like the peace dove. Please join us.
