POLSON — Polson Dollars for Scholars will award eighteen scholarships this spring to Polson High School graduates. Scholarship money is provided by the local Polson Dollars for Scholars organization from money generated by various fund raising events, which take place throughout the year, donations from individuals and clubs and from families who provide scholarships in memory of loved ones.

Parents of students who are attending college should be aware there are many scholarships to provide financial assistance to PHS graduates who are continuing their education.  These scholarships are for an accredited four-year, two-year, community college or vocational program. Polson Dollars for Scholars provides matching funds of $500 to increase the amount of the scholarships from $500 to $1,000.

Many different scholarships are also available for graduating Polson High School seniors.  These scholarships are provided by individuals from the Polson community. Polson Dollars for Scholars matches these scholarships so students receive up to $1,000.

Qualifications vary with each scholarship. All students are encouraged to apply as these scholarships are for every type of student. For more information and applications, contact Emily Johnson at the Polson High School guidance office at 883-6351 ext.205 or her email address:  ejohnson@polson.k12.mt.us. The deadline for applications is April 12.
