LAKE COUNTY —The Lake County Board of Health is pleased to announce Janet Sucha of Charlo as the recipient of the 2013 Virginia Reber Public Health Award. Ms. Sucha was chosen based upon specific criteria including promoting principles of public health, collaborating with community groups to promote public health and improve life for others, and promoting a positive image of public health in Lake County. Ms. Sucha was recognized for her several years of effort in organizing the many partners who sponsor the annual Bike Path Appreciation Day. The event promotes family use of the bike path along with education on fitness, healthy eating, recycling and safety.
The Virginia Reber Public Health Award was established in 2009 by the Lake County Board of Health to honor a Lake County or Flathead Reservation resident or entity that has furthered public health principles in the community. Janet Sucha will receive her award during a luncheon on Tuesday, April 2, at noon at the public health building conference room, 802 Main St., Polson. The public is encouraged to attend.
