The Lady Bulldogs kept their record perfect heading into the holiday break last week as they picked up a 30-26 win over visiting Eureka.
It was once again a true team effort for Mission in the win as Breanne Steele led the way with 10 points while Ashley Courville, Kyla Mitchell and LaGlen Mitchell pitched in with five points each.
Mission struggled to find the basket in the opening half of the contest, falling behind 6-3 after one quarter or play. The Bulldogs continued to trail at the half as Eureka outscored Mission 9-6 in the second frame to build a 15-9 halftime lead.
The Mission comeback started in the third quarter, where the Bulldogs outscored Eureka 9-6 to cut the lead to 21-18 heading into the final eight minutes of play.
Mission took over in the final quarter, outscoring Eureka 12-5 to earn a narrow victory.
Loren Erickson and Dawn Lynn-Rossbach each added two points for Mission in the win while Stephanie Lewandowski scored one point.
With the win, the Lady Bulldogs improve to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in district action.
The Bulldogs boasted a pair of double-digit scorers in their contest against Eureka but could not pull out the win as the Lions picked up a 56-40 win.
Stuart Grant led Mission with 15 points while Nikka Alexander added 13 but the Lions countered with four players in double figures, led by Ryan Holder with 17.
Eureka jumped out to a quick 13-7 lead after one quarter and won each frame except the third, where both teams scored 11.
Along with the strong games by Alexander and Grant, Austin McDonald added six points for the Bulldogs, Austin Durglo scored three, Josh Durglo added two and Jared Smith-Brown had one point.
Holder’s 17 points led Eureka while Chris Ibach added 12, Bryton Guckenberg had 11 and Tanner Blankers scored 10 points.
Both Mission teams return to action Jan. 4 when the take on the Vikings in Bigfork.
