Editor,

I would like to thank Kathryn Sanford for her letter to the editor titled “Smart Growth’ not so smart.” It is refreshing to see that there are some people in our community researching  Agenda 21’s “Smart Growth” in Polson and the partnership  which our mayor, city manager, and a local volunteer formed with the Orton Family Foundation to push this hideous “Heart and Soul” into our community. Yes, it is socialism, at best.

To read a recent article in the Valley Journal about Agenda 21, I was furious to read that the persons responsible for bringing this “Smart Growth” into our community denied Orton Heart and Soul’s relationship to Agenda 21. The proof of Orton Family Foundation and Agenda 21’s Smart Growth relationship has been given to them by a number of people, including myself. They are well aware that the Orton Family Foundation is a major funder for Smart Growth.  The deception level here in Polson’s “good ole boy’s club” is completely out of control.

Thanks again, Ms. Sanford. I hope more people will do their own research on Orton’s “Heart and Soul” and dismiss the defenders of this socialistic Smart Growth grant.
