Do the elders think that 144 full-blooded members of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes would even be a recognized tribe? I think not. Without the light-haired, and yes, even blue-eyed members, you would not have a tribe at all.

Shame on you, Steven Smallsalmon. As a supposedly revered tribal member and full-blooded elder, you are nothing more than a bigot towards your own people. The Tribal Council also deserves a “shame on you” for allowing you to speak the way you did and point fingers at other members of this tribe, calling us white men (suyapis). 

You need to step back and look at the tribal people as a proud people, a people who, in their hearts and minds love our ancestors and are full-blooded Indians in other ways, not just the color of our skin and hair.
