U.S. is republic, not democracy

The Constitution of the United States was created to protect the minorities from the “tyranny of the majority” with unalienable (absolute “bestowed-by-the-creator) rights. Which makes us a republic. Not a democracy where the majority does whatever it wants.
Just wanted to clear that up.
