POLSON — Main Street has been revamped thanks to the Streetscape Project, but there are still a few finishing touches needed.
The Polson Community Development Agency has formed an ad hoc committee to raise money for landscaping, benches, bike racks, trash receptacles, maintenance and art, most with an acknowledgement plaque recognizing the donor.
General contributions will also be accepted as will money specifically designated to offset the Street Improvement District costs.
Meeting most Thursday evenings at Polson City Hall, committee members David DeVore, Jane Irwin, Paul London, Bonnie Manicke, Karen McMullen, Joslyn Shackelford, Cindy Willis and Candy Yeater will be mailing fundraising letters to area residents in late November.
Touting Polson as our “Small Town on a Big Lake,” the letters will give friends of Polson a chance to help out with downtown improvement efforts. Two benches and a bike rack have already been purchased by Polson businesses.
Checks can be sent to the PCDA-Streetscape Fund at P.O. Box 758, Polson. The PCDA is a 501 c (3) non-profit, making any donations tax deductible.
