According to head coach Bob Hislop, Polson tennis’ “warrior of the week” was Shannon Oakley, who went 2-1 in weekend matches, losing a heartbreaking three-set match to Sloan Ellis of Whitefish and winning two matches Saturday. “In her last four matches, she has played just short of 12 total hours of tennis,” Hislop noted.
Whitney Zimmerman, Brady Hislop and Dylan McCrumb remain undefeated in conference at No. 1 singles. Brady and Dylan have traded off at No. 1 boys’ singles all season. The boys lost only two matches of 21 played in three duals. The other loss was a forfeit due to the fact that Sam Kinzle was unavailable to the team due to the state music festival.
The girls lost their first conference team dual in almost five years in Whitefish on Thursday. In that dual, all five of the Polson girls’ losses were in three sets and in four of those, Polson led after one set.
