Editor,

Voters of Lake County have a unique opportunity to elect Dan Salomon as Representative for HD12, not just for our area, but the state. The incumbent, in last legislative session, voted strictly against timber, gas, jobs, coal, small business – and voted 91 percent average for environmental issues. Also, pro choice 100 percent, unions 100 percent, voted three times against HB 418. Governor vetoed three times; overruled April 8, 2008, 59 to 41. Horse owners were happy.

Dan graduated from MSU Bozeman with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Production. Also, he has been a partner with the family dairy business for many years. Dan is also in business raising cattle and performing the seemingly endless jobs as a farmer. His way of life, performance of husbandry and care of land are deeply rooted through those who preceeded.

Dan has been involved in the community as a Roan School Board member for 13 years and is involved in many other agricultural and community entities.

Because of Dan’s education, business, ownerships, community services and diversities makes Dan a natural to be involved in the Montana legislature where he can share and use life’s experiences. He knows that monies belong to Montanans and must be spent wisely. He has many ideas for jobs and knows that Montana has much to offer for jobs without over use. Montana has always been a get up and go state and still can if we can rid the overspending and allow our rich resources and ingenuity of its people. We have technical assistance with our higher education facilities and a multitude of great workers. We just have to have workers in our legislature like Dan who say, “Yes we can.” The opportunities are there; the time is right. Dan is the man. Vote for a better Montana.
