JudgeC.B.McNeil dealt with the following cases Wednesday, June 12:
Jacob Patrick Fleming, 37, Pablo, in a change of plea, admitted committing criminal endangerment, a felony. The court found Fleming guilty. He was released to check in immediately with Probation and Parole. Sentencing is set for Wednesday, July 17 at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from a February 4 incident where officers responded to residence where a struggle had taken place, allegedly over medication, as a 14-year-old attempted to keep Fleming out of the residence. Fleming told officers that the youth had hit him. Yet officers observed redness, bruising and swelling on the youth’s face, so it appeared Fleming had hit the youth.
A review of Fleming’s criminal record revealed two prior convictions for partner/family member assault.
Delicia Morigeau, 36, Arlee, for assault with a weapon, a felony, was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for 10 years with all suspended except 60 days in Lake County Jail. For criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony, Morigeau was sentenced to DOC for five years with all suspended. Both sentences will run concurrently, and Morigeau will be credited for time already served.
According to court documents, charges stem from a September 2012 incident where Morigeau had hit a man with her car after arguing about money. Methamphetamine was also found in her car, along with other drugs and drug paraphernalia.
George Coffey, 63, Dixon, pleaded not guilty to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. An omnibus hearing is set for Wednesday, Aug. 14 with a jury trial set to begin Monday, Nov. 4. Both begin at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from a July 2012 incident where tribal officer, while searching the trunk of a car before it entered the powwow grounds in Elmo, found a bag with syringes, a spoon with white residue tested to be Fentanyl, and several pharmaceutical patches of the drug Fentanyl. Coffey, a passenger in the vehicle, told the officer the bag belonged to him.
Judge Deborah Kin Christopher dealt with the following cases Thursday, June 13:
Milton Roundface, 45, Pablo, admitted to violating conditions of parole by walking away from his treatment center without authorization and without letting anyone know where he went. His suspended sentence was revoked and Roundface was sentenced to Montana State Prison for 10 years with credit for time served in custody.
Joseph Sleeping Bear, 24, Missoula, in a change of plea, not pursuant to a plea agreement, admitted committing the offense of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. The court found Sleeping Bear guilty. Sentencing is set for Thursday, Aug. 15 at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from an October 2012 incident where officers found Sleeping Bear unresponsive and slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle with a syringe in his hand. Officers located a substance that appeared to be methamphetamine in the vehicle.
Chaz Blain Creemedicine, 20, Browning, pleaded not guilty to criminal endangerment, a felony. An omnibus hearing is set for Thursday, July 25 and a jury trial for Monday, Sept. 9. However, Creemedicine’s attorney asked for and received a request for a change of plea on July 11. That is set to begin at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from a May 29 incident where Creemedicine drove a vehicle in a high-speed chase from Missoula to north of St. Ignatius, reaching speeds up to 120 mph and forcing cars off the road, nearly causing wrecks. He was taken into custody after law enforcement used a spike strip to disable the vehicle.
Elizabeth Matt, 17, Charlo, pleaded not guilty to two counts of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, both felonies. An omnibus hearing is set for Thursday, Aug. 15 and a jury trial for Monday, Sept. 23. Both begin at 9 a.m.
According to court documents, charges stem from a March 25 incident where a tribal police officer stopped the vehicle Matt was riding in because it had been reported as stolen. While searching her, officers found two Ativan pills. She also had a pipe with residue that was tested and found to be methamphetamine.
