Editor,
Many thanks for the great little guide to our “next door to heaven” surroundings. My daughter visited from Seattle and after reading the articles, we enjoyed a super lunch at Stella’s where Jayna makes your sandwich bread early every day – the rye is outstanding! The calendar of events is sure to call attention to and take folks along a path of summer fun. Of special interest to this writer are the articles on area farmers markets. We buy what the sticker on my car says: “Local is delicious.” I would be remiss if I did not mention that the Polson Farmers Market’s logo is the creation of my granddaughter, Kristen Theiler. Kristen graduated from the U of M with a double major (did it in four years) in photojournalism and graphic arts. She submitted two pieces, which, along with other entries, were voted on by the market attendees. For her efforts she was awarded market dollars, a gift certificate, and some cash. Her Grampy and I matched her winnings and we donated all the funds to the Polson Loaves and Fishes. Kristen is employed by a graphic arts company in Idaho. The market sells logo-embellished T-shirts and cloth bags - wear one and fill the other with the market’s wonderful produce and handcrafted products.
Eat locally - it’s good food at fair prices.
