Ascend back up to sanity

Anyone with two active brain cells understands to what levels the elevator of our society has descended, abandoning most value systems of consequence in lieu of politically correct concepts. Talks over the backyard fence seem to be centered on which subterranean floor things will finally settle before the car stops and those who know the difference decide to get off and use the stairs for the ascent back up to sanity.
The moral vacuum created by this rapid descent should provide those of us who get off the Hell-bound elevator with an unclouded path back to personal responsibility, personal integrity and the morality on which our society was created; in other words – a breath of fresh air.
I, for one, relish the return to the processes of critical thinking, deductive reasoning, common sense and common courtesy. The current societal replacements for these elements are not worthy of a naming convention.
I’m wondering exactly where those who drove the elevator down believed they were really going — Fantasyland? Equality has never existed except in the minds of those who are incapable of competing for anything, ever.
Obviously, we can expect a tremendous amount of the “birthing process” (yelling and screaming) by those who will remain in the car as they realize their “free ride” is over. “Something for nothing” is fast coming to an end, along with “more for nothing.”
The good news is that those who will climb the stairs back up to at least ground level understand what lies ahead, the effort it will take and the rewards they will share.
