RONAN — Well, here we are, down to the last couple of weeks of summer vacation. If the kids aren’t ready for the school year to start, I’m sure that their parents are. It has been a few years since I’ve had kids in school, but I still remember how it felt. Now, it is the grandkids who are in school, or out of school already. Time sure does go fast, and it sure seems to go faster than it used to.
Despite the hot weather, attendance has been up here at the center. We have great people working in the kitchen and we sure do appreciate all of their hard work. It isn’t easy to work in a hot kitchen during the summer and we are looking into an air conditioning/heating unit to make things a little easier on all of us.
The foot clinic is here this Wednesday and there are still places on the list. Come on in if you want to see the nurse. Jane is here between 10 a.m. and noon. There’s no charge for this service but donations are always appreciated.
Bernadine has been moved to St. Lukes Hospital and I’m sure she would enjoy some more company. At last report, she was doing better.
Our birthday dinner is on the last Friday of the month, Aug. 30. The band will be here to play some of their great music and we start serving lunch at noon. Come on in and bring a guest (or two).
We have not been had bingo lately but will start it up again following the meal on Friday, Aug. 15. Come join the ladies.
We are still having craft days on Wednesdays. Two of our painters had pictures at the Lake County Fair. Congratulations to Ann and Betty on all of the ribbons they won.

• Wednesday, Aug.14: salad bar
• Friday, Aug. 16: pizza tot casserole
• Monday, Aug. 19: taco soup
• Wednesday, Aug. 21: pork chops
• Friday, Aug. 23: goulash
• Monday, Aug. 26: spaghetti
• Wednesday, Aug. 28: salsa chicken
• Friday, Aug. 30: roast beef for our chicken dinner
Come in and join us; our meals are great and cost only $4 if you are 60 years or older.
