Editor,
Thank you to all donors to our Mission Valley Food Pantry. We could not keep serving our hungry families without your cash and food donations.
The Food Pantry is served by volunteers who spend many hours unloading deliveries, stocking shelves and serving more than 100 families monthly.
Our director spends many hours ordering food, picking up these orders and keeping the Food Pantry running smoothly.
Without these dedicated men and women we could not keep the Food Pantry doors open.
The food stamp program (SNAP) is facing an 8 percent or $10 per person reduction a month in benefits starting Nov. 1. This will impact the need for food for our families.
The Food Pantry is open each Tuesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Volunteers are always needed. If you have a few free hours a month, please consider helping feed our local families. Stop by the Food Pantry at 203 Blaine Street in St. Ignatius and see what you can do to help serve our community, or call me at (406) 745-6974.
The food pantry is in need of another freezer. Any help on acquiring one would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all of you.
